Delegation comprised of representatives of belgian
region Flamish- Brabant received today during its visit of Kosice self
governing region(KSR) president KSR Rudolf Bauer. The group of belgians was leaded by governor of province Flamish-Brabant
and president of regional developing agency Lodewijk De Witte. Among the
belgians guests were also the members of their regional executive and regional
Council, director of the Chamber of Commerce Rene Leekens and general director
of the regional developing agency Alain Mosselmans.
At the
working dinner president of KSR informed about competences of Kosice
self-governing region, about its economic potential, important foreign
investments in KSR and about regional iniciatives from the point of view of the
others developing possibilities of the region, which are connected with the
access of the Slovak Republic to EU. Guests were also interested about nature
beauties of the region, and about valuable cultural and historical remains on
the territory of the region.
Flamish Brabant is the youngest
of Flanders provincies. It was formed in 1995, when it came about division of
autonomous Brabant province into three parts- flamish, valoon and capital of the
region Brussels. Flamish Brabant has 1 million of inhabitans, who live on the
territory of 2 106 km2. Belgium has 10,24 millions of
inhabitants and total territory 30 528 km2.
